Mechanical Skulls
Compatible Servo Skulls in the WH40k® universe are an iconic element of the Imperium’s technology, and they are especially prominent in the forces of the Adeptus Mechanicus®. These floating, robotic compatible drones are made from the skulls of deceased humans—often those who have served the Imperium with distinction—and are repurposed with a range of augmented technologies. Controlled by machine spirits, they serve a wide variety of roles, such as reconnaissance, combat support, and even as messengers or data retrieval units. They are a distinct symbol of the Imperium's reverence for technology and the bizarre blending of the organic with the mechanical.
